July 4th 2011, a set on Flickr.
This year for 4th I wanted to do something more "traditional" with Brandon so I decided to attend a local parade. The weather was perfect this year, I'd say it was the best year since we moved up here in the Northwest.
We went to a pancake breakfast hosted by the Bothell Fire department. I would say they were one of the best pancakes I have every had. I was surprise by how fast they can make them too. It was a huge line and I was worried that they will run out but they just keep them going.
After pancakes, we took Brandon to see the fire trucks and ambulances that were parked outside. He got really excited when he got to sit at the driver's seat in the engine. We got to see a very old Ford model A fire truck and inside a big modern engine, it was really fun.
We then went on to see the Bothell 4th of July Parade, we didn't know what to expect, there was a lot of people already lined up the street, we found a standing spot. They threw candies to all the kids and we got a bunch. Brandon loved it at first, but the big noise kinda scared him a little. The parade was LONG, I was thinking an hour, it was more like 2 1/2 hr long! Next time we definately have to get chairs.
We had a little lunch at Red Robin after the parade, I wanted to have Brandon rest up so we can go see the big fireworks near Kenmore. We went at 10pm and got a nice spot to sit down. Brandon covers his ears while watching but I think he actually likes it.
